अनादि मी ~

Seldom i dare climbing hills on both the week end days. Yesterday i did that and i ended up over exerting myself. Of course i did. At 49 I'm not growing any younger after all.       For Sunday, 12 May 2024 the word was already out on our group for joining the #CoTien_hill trek @ our #NhaTrang city. Our usual members had enrolled and it completely slipped my mind on Sat, the 11th as my feet automatically turned to the hill by around after 4 pm.      My ascend started at 17:24 & at 16:04 i was bowing my head to the deity on the first peak. 40 minutes is my new personal best so far. If a successful trek is an outcome of habit and stamina, the i think i am close to clearing the habit part. However the feeling of winning over your fears is absolutely blissful.   The next day on 12th May, Sunday our Khanh reminds me of our group trek on the same hill. मी काही धार्मिक म्हणावा असा माणूस नाही. पण समोर आलेल्या अंगाऱ्याच्या बोटाला नाही म्हणत नाही. देव आणि देऊळ यांच्या बाबतीतले निमंत्रण वा कमिटमेंट यांपैकी कशाहीसाठी आपली पावले आपोआप तिथे वळतात.  आज साप्ताहिक नेमाप्रमाणे CoTien डोंगर चढायला निघणार एवढ्यात आमचा कान्ह बोलला, एक नवीन मंदीर आहे, येणार का? प्रथम मोठ्या तोऱ्यात नाही म्हटल्यावर विचार आला, अरे गाढवा देवाचं बोलावणं आहे, ... टाळतोस कसला? गाडीला किक मारली नि जवळपास वीस किमीवरच्या त्या मंदीराकडे निघालो. दहाच मिनिटांत गाडी खेडेगावांच्या मधून जाऊ लागली. त्यांच्या मागे दोन्हीं बाजूला सगळी नेपथ्य रचना डोंगरांची; आणि प्रकाशयोजना मावळती पूर्वीची. मग काय विचारता?   ... फ़क्त या गाढव व्हिएतनामी लोकांना डोंगर कसणे माहिती - चढणे नाही! प्रत्येक बुद्ध मंदीराच्या मागचा डोंगर नुसता बघण्यासाठी असतो. चढण्याच्या वाटा चिणून टाकलेल्या. साम्यवादी सरकारने कुठलाही उठाव बिठाव होऊ नये म्हणून घेतलेली दक्षता वेगेरे असेल. असो.  रस्त्यावर कॉफ़ीशॉप उघडायचे, रस्त्यावर खुर्च्या मांडायच्या आणि तासन्‌ तास निवान्त गप्पा हाणीत बसायचे हा या पूर्ण देशाचा राष्ट्रीय कार्यक

Today it was a mix of some experimental cooking & a small adventure on the new bike!   It is a used Yamaha Exciter 150cc 5 gear in Nha Trang for much needed mobility & mostly the weekend escapades. Seeing her orange saffron color I could not resist sealing the deal without seeing any other options last week. So ... it's the orange color which refuses to leave me here also!   My colleague Mr Hoàng Khánh Vũ 's wife Mrs Nguyễn Bích Ngọc had kindly given me three smooth gourd vegetable fruits with spring onions from her mother's farm. I had to do some good to this precious gift of her. I hadn't made a smooth gourd curry myself before, but with my wife's persuasive dictation as always, I could put up an acceptable show.    Smooth gourds + Potato + Onion + Spring onions + Baked beans + Cheese + Garlic + Spices + Salt cooked in groundnut oil without a drop of water came up with this Smooth Gourd Indian Curry served with plain rice.  Thu 18 Apr 2024 | Vietnam National Day | World Heritage Day     व्हिएतनामच्या निन्‌-थुआन या प्रांतात फ़ान्‌-रांग हे शहर आहे. फ़ान्‌-रांग म्हणजे पांडुरंग. तिथे जाण्याचा चांगला योग काल जुळून आला.    काही शे वर्षे या देशात (यासह इंडोनेशिया, थायलंड, कंबोडिया व चीन यांचे काही भाग - येथे) भारतीय चोळ वंशीय राजांचे राज्य होते. त्यांनी आपल्यासोबत इथे हिंदूधर्म आणला, रुजवला - तो बहरला - तो आजतागायत इथे आहे. इथे भारतीय राजांची सत्ता ही रक्ताचा थेंबही न सांडता नांदू लागली त्यामुळे त्याची दखल तशी इतिहासात घेतली गेली नाही. शेवटी एका बाजूने चिन्यांच्या व दुसरीकडून फ़्रेंचांच्या आक्रमणापुढे ते राज्य हतप्रभ झाले.   गुगल मॅप्स ~ https://bit.ly/PhanRang_area     या भारतीय राज्याला चंपा असे नाव होते. त्या चंपा राज्याचे हिंदू रहिवासी आजही स्वतःला चाम्‌ असे म्हणवून घेतात. व्हिएतनाम सरकारने या चाम ‘वंशीय’ लोकांसाठी खास संरक्षक भाग म्हणून हे फ़ान्‌-रांग शहर योजून दिले आहे. इथले सुंदर मंदीर बांधणारा व शहर वसवणारा राजा स्वतःस पांडुरंग म्हणवून घेई, म्हणून या शहराचे नाव पांड्रांग - वा फ़ान्‌-रांग.    आपण इथे आलो की ह
